Car Review: New Sports Concept FT-86 II
The icy-cool environs of Geneva, Switzerland sizzled and gleamed as the veils were gently lifted-off the new Toyota FT-86 II concept vehicle.
“I have never seen anything like it,” remarked a visitor to the 81st Geneva International Motor Show, “Just imagine…this is currently the world’s only rear-wheel-drive sports car equipped with a horizontally opposed engine!”
The new Toyota FT-86 II concept vehicle features a combination of core rear-wheel-drive sports car technologies and horizontally opposed engine technologies.
Features such as an original platform, epoch-making low center of gravity and a lightweight, compact body give drivers a new dimension in driving pleasure. In addition, the exterior design is streamlined to improve vehicle’s aerodynamics characteristics and appeals to the senses.
With an eye toward commercialization, TMC plans to fine-tune production model prototypes through test-drives on roads throughout the world. Furthermore, the production model based on the FT-86 II concept is scheduled to make its world premier at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011.
In Oman, Toyota is a household name, a part of people’s lives. On the one hand, Toyota offers enduring quality. On the other, nothing comes close to it in terms of value-retention. It is no surprise; therefore, that Toyota soars far above the rest, with a dominant market share and ever-expanding customer base.
