Microsoft, largest software company in the world, awarded a prize as a token of appreciation to Knowledge Oman (www.knowledgeoman.com) for the support rendered to promoting technology awareness and supporting the success of the Microsoft Open Door Event held in Muscat.
Khalfan Al Mahrazy, Vice President of Knowledge Oman, attended the ceremony on behalf of the team to collect the award from Microsoft's Oman office.
"Knowledge Oman has been actively involved in building a vibrant online community that enables Omanis to connect and share knowledge. We are very pleased to offer this award as a token of appreciation to the sincere efforts of Knowledge Oman’s team and their support during the Microsoft Open Door Event that took place earlier this year in Oman,” commented Tareq Hijazi, Regional Country Manager for Microsoft in the Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Bahrain.
Open Door is Microsoft’s premier technical education event aimed at offering technology professionals and decision makers the chance to explore and connect with a broad set of current and soon-to-be-released Microsoft technologies, tools, platforms and services.
A wide range of Microsoft customers including IT professionals, developers and IT decision makers from small and medium-sized businesses, government institutions and large enterprises attended the Event to engage and interact, while learning about Microsoft’s breadth of solutions, technologies and innovations.
Knowledge Oman, since its launch in 2008, has received local and international recognition for its difference-making in the country. Most recently Knowledge Oman has been honored with the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to the Cause of Education" Award at the World HRD Congress 2012 in Mumbai in line with its mission. This is in addition to being awarded the International Best Standard Technology portal in 2009, and in 2010 recognized with the Brand Leadership award accolade at the Global Brand Congress.
