Knowledge Oman Supports International Volunteers Project
Knowledge Oman, the nation’s award winning volunteer and knowledge sharing organization in the Sultanate, has partnered to support an aspiring social entrepreneur Mohamed Al Touqi for his social enterprise project ‘International Volunteers’ that has been registered under the Social entrepreneurship development program of Knowledge Oman. The project is a unique and first-of-its-kind enterprise in Oman that aims to inspire and enable Omani volunteers to reach out to the needy in impoverished communities across the world.
“Mohamed Touqi and his ‘International Volunteers’ project reflects the growing urge among Omani youth to be enterprising and socially responsible at the same time. Knowledge Oman strives to facilitate these passionate and dynamic entrepreneurs in realizing their dreams,” remarked Baby Sam Samuel, the Senior Vice-President and Head of Coaching and Mentoring Unit of Knowledge Oman.
The social entrepreneurship development program, running under the Coaching and Mentoring Unit of Knowledge Oman, aims to propagate social entrepreneurship in Oman through a comprehensive approach that creates awareness among young Omanis on the need and scope of social enterprises as well as provides necessary support throughout the process of setting up the enterprise. Al Touqi was presented with certificate of enrollment in the presence of Tariq Al Barwani, Founder of Knowledge Oman and Baby Sam Samuel, Senior Vice President of Knowledge Oman.
Mohamed Al Touqi, founder of International Volunteers, says, "I am fortunate to have Knowledge Oman by my side for further development and associating with International Volunteers' cause for fighting poverty through volunteering. On behalf of everyone who has believed in this project, I express my heartfelt thanks for all of you."
