KO President To Speak at World Bank Forum
Rym Aoudia, President of Knowledge Oman, has been invited by the World Bank Group to participate and speak at the Global Youth Forum in Washington D.C on June 13-15, 2016. The Global Youth Forum will gather more than 150 partners and representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society, and young people themselves, to learn new ideas, and to support the actions of the global community. The forum is designed around open discussions, based on evidence and experience, of the most effective ways to address the major challenges facing young people and to engage young people in development.
Rym Aoudia, says, “I’m honored to be invited by the World Bank to represent Knowledge Oman and the team and to connect with the global community. This is a unique opportunity to engage on the work we do in Oman, contribute to the advancement of global goals, and learn from the experiences and examples of leading figures to bring back to Oman further opportunities of partnerships and growth.”
The event opens on June 13, 2016 with a high-level welcome address from senior World Bank Group management and key partners to set the direction of the Forum. For the next two and a half days, participants will learn new ways to support the transition of young people to adulthood, and to involve young people in efforts to achieve sustained, peaceful, and broad-based economic development.
The active participation of the world’s 1.8 billion young people is needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), World Bank Group’s twin goals, and global peace and stability. The Forum will address topics of fundamental importance to young people, including technology, employment, education, health and voice, as well as eliciting innovative ideas from young social entrepreneurs and activists.
