Knowledge Oman, the leading community and knowledge sharing platform in the country, has joined hands with the global youth network AIESEC, to jointly address the leadership challenges among the youth in Oman. The alliance was sealed at a formal ceremony where BabySam Samuel on behalf of Knowledge Oman signed a memorandum of understanding with Jason Yung who represented AIESEC.
AIESEC is an international, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates, with its major focus on activating youth leadership globally. It was founded in 1948 with an aim to connect young people around the world, providing them with a platform to explore and develop their leadership potential through leadership trainings and internship opportunities.
On a parallel line, Knowledge Oman is an entirely volunteer-based community platform in Oman; this one-of-a-kind initiative, launched in 2008 by Tariq Hilal Al Barwani with a team of volunteers was set to solidify the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to transform Oman into a knowledge-based society, connecting people in the community to create, share and promote knowledge through online-based and community-driven activities.
“The KO-AIESEC collaboration is a reflection of our shared goals and vision: to empower the youth of Oman through knowledge and learning. We are delighted to associate with young, driven, like-minded people who want to make a difference in the world”, said BabySam Samuel. “Being a leader means to innovate; to be motivating as well as to be motivated; it’s a much needed skill for personal growth as well as that of the community and country at large”.
With an aim to support the mission and vision of Knowledge Oman & AIESEC while also further enhancing the capacity and the impact of both these organizations in Oman, this partnership is a mutual bid to inspire, encourage and activate leadership among the youth of Oman
